Womens Online Shopping Made Easy

Online clothes shopping -- do you or don't you?

For a long time, I was the timid girl in cyber corner, hiding from the best online clothing boutiques. Even though everyone was getting the best online deals (those online laptop deals have jaw dropping prices), and enjoying the convenience (had no idea that you can get prescription drugs over the internet, just check out canadadrugpharmacy.com), I was still convinced that nothing felt better than battling the crowds at the stores.

Victoria's Secret - One of the Best Online Clothing Boutiques

Then came marriage, and a baby. This mama suddenly had no time for shopping -- nope, not even for designer clothes for women. So, to cyber space I went, and I can't seem to come back.

Online clothes shopping, however, takes trial and error. If you can't try the clothes on, you are bound to make mistakes.

Here are some tips for online clothes shopping I learned from my mistakes, to save you trouble from making the same:

1. Know Your Brand

Whether you shop at an online clothing boutique or a national chain, always buy familiar brands, especially your favorite brands. This way, you already know the fit, style and sizing.

2. Know Your Size

Speaking of size, definitely be sure of your size at each store. Different stores have different sizes. If you feel uncertain, measure yourself and look up the sizing chart on store websites.

This is one of my purchases from Victoria's Secret online. Couldn't have been happier with it. So glad I measured myself before purchase.

3. Read the Fine Print

If you do get your size wrong, you can always return. However, many stores charge extra for mailing returns.

Read the fine print for each store. Find out what extra charges are, such as shipping, taxes, deal qualifications, and sale policies.

4. Browse Clearance

Online stores have the best clearance. For one, there's more in stock, because websites don't need physical storage. Also, it's straight forward. If an item goes out of stock, you know right away. No more digging through piles of back racks.

Cheap dresses online are hard to find.

Very happy I found this Fredericks dress on sale.

5. Read Reviews

Some things, especially popular items and designer clothes for women, receive a lot of reviews. If you don't feel comfortable buying something, find out how others liked them.

So, online clothes shopping -- do you or don't you?

And if you do, do you have any tips to share?

  1. of course I have shopped online for clothes but not very often. I still feel like thrifting is more fun than online shopping and I like the fact I can touch the items I'm going to purchase ;)

  7. Great tips for online shopping. I don't simply because I'm worried it wont suit me or the size would be wrong and I wouldn't bother returning it, but I may start to now :) xx

  9. I used to be very timid, myself. But with flexible return policies, coupon codes for additional discounts and free shipping, and free samples or bonus offers it's not hard to find a better deal online, too! It's good to find vendors who will honor competitor's prices and/or provide customer loyalty programs like rewards points or cashback, especially during the month of your birthday when they offer birthday gifts or discounts.

  10. I took me a while to wrap my mind around the whole 'online shopping' thing. At this point, I just embrace the great benefits it has, including saving time and money ('clearence' is usually what I hit first on my favorite online outlets) Risks? Getting too crazy and spend too much and getting the wrong size! :) xoxo

  11. After having children, I barely have time to go to the grocery store let alone clothes shopping, so online shopping has been great for this mama as well. I stick to merchants with flexible return policies, and I look for sales. It is much easier to scour through sales online than in store, just click, click, and click.

  17. Thanks for the tips. Strange enough...i seldom shop online. Probaby the one thing that deters me is the shipping costs. Sometimes the shipping costs can be more than the total cost of the items. But i like to go to Iherb. It's a great online store for toiletries and health supplements. I like VS too and Amazon.com.

  18. I shop at specific stores online only...I rarely shop online at stores I've never been to (and checked out their sizing and quality). With that said, I love ebay and amazon for bargains too! The thing I'm most likely to buy online? SHOES! Nice post--nice dress too!
