HOW TO DO PURPLE SMOKY EYES

Ever since smoky eyes became a makeup trend, many variations of it were created.  Among them, purple smoky.  Today is my attempt at this sultry purple smoky eyes.  Wish me luck!

Step 1: Apply entire lid with a cream-based high lighter

Step 2: Top lid with a dark shade of purple shadow.  Don't cross the crease lines.

Step 3: Rim eyes with a black pencil liner.  Draw as closely to the lash line as possible.

Step 4: Line top lash lines with a dark shadow.
Using an applicator, smudge shadow with the black eyeliner.

Step 5: On your crease, apply a medium shade of purple shadow.

Step 6: Curl lashes and apply mascara

Done! Purple smoky that's pretty and easy-to-do!!

QUICK MEAL IDEA: RANCH BEAN DIP

Okay, fine!  This is more like a snack than a meal.  But it's still pretty quick to do.  Plus, it's bean dip with a zesty ranch flavor.  It's a tasty chow for parties, appetizers and just as a snack.

Here is what you need:
2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup of sour cream
1 can of refried beans
1 package of ranch seasoning

Here is what you do:

Step 1: Dump all the in ingredients into a pan and cook over medium heat

Step 2: Stir until all ingredients are mixed and smooth

Step 3: Serve with tortilla chips

See?  Pretty easy huh?  And trust me!  It tastes yummy too!

THE GIRLIE BLOG REVIEWS AVEENO POSITIVELY RADIANT TINTED MOISTURIZER

Once in a while we all find a product we LOVE LOVE LOVE!!  I guess by now you just realized that my review for Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is a raving review.

Yes, I loved this product from the moment I used it.  Smooth, creamy formula with both moisturizing and coverage power.  It's 2 of the best things in one!

Here are what I liked:
  • Great coverage
  • Moisturizes skin
  • Smooth formula
  • Makes my skin flawless and radiant after use
  • Faint fragrance smells nice
  • Pump bottle is easy to use
  • An affortable price tag.  Around $15 - 16 at drug stores
Here is what I disliked:
  • Not much, but I didn't like how it only came in light, med and dark.  I thought that it should come in more choice of colors
My over all rating? 5/5

Repurchase? Yes!  Yes!  Yes!

I love all Aveeno products...so far.  But this tinted moisturizer knocks it out of the ball park!

Here is my hand before use.  Kind of blothcy, huh?

Here is my hand after use.  Smooth and nice.

HIGHLIGHTING THE INNER CORNERS OF THE EYES

This is not an unknown beauty trick.  I've just never tried it before.  But today, I'm very brave!

I heard that adding a little highlighter to the inner corner of the eyes can really widen and brighten.  So I gave it a try.

Here is my eye makeup before highlighting the inner corners of my eyes:

Here is my eye makeup after highlighting the inner corners of my eyes:

In my opinion, it worked.  But for everyday or office wear, I don't really think I'll use the highlighter.  It's too glamorous.  For night time though, I'd really like to repeat this look.

BTW, I used Sephora Collection Nano Eyeliner in "Pearl Beige".
I love this liner!

CASUALLY JACKETTED

I have always worn this black jacket to work, dressing it up over blouses, trousers and such business-friendly clothing.  However, since I have been staying home lately, I wanted to dress it down.

So for brunch over the weekend, I rolled up the sleeves and topped the jacket over lightly embellished tank and dark skinny denims

It's kind of an in-between outfit, combining dressy with casual - perfect, at least for me, to wear on an easy weekend brunch with girl friends.

PRODUCT REVIEW FOR MAYBELLINE THE FALSIES VOLUM'EXPRESS MASCARA

When you tell a girl who loves her false eyelashes that some mascara can produce the same effect, of course she will run out and get this mascara!  Especially if she can get it from the drug store for around $6.50!

So did it live up to its claim?  LOL!  Do they ever?  To sum it up, I'm not ditching my beloved false eyelashes!  There is NOTHING (yet) that can replace them!

Here's what Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Mascara claimed:

  • Patented Spoon brush and Kera-fiber formula instantly build 8x more volume without clumping.
  • Unique flexible wand helps to lift and separate lashes to provide the look of 300% more lashes.
  • Ophthalmologist tested
  • Contact lens safe

Here is my take on each of its claim:

  • I loved using the Spoon Brush.  It was very easy to use and separate the lashes with.
  • The Kera-fiber formula did not cause too much clumping (just a little that's easily corrected).  But 8X more volume?  That's a far-fetched number!  More like...2-3 times more.
  • I did like the flexible wand.  It was very easy to apply with.
  • I don't wear contact lens, so I would not know how well the reaction to those are.  But the formula did not irritate my eyes.
Would I repurchase?
Most likely not.  Sorry!  The mascara worked so-so.  I really liked the want, the brush and the formula.  But the volume just did not live up to expectations.
Attractive price though!

On a scale of 5?
Possibly a 3 / 5

Did it live up to its "falsies" claim?
H*lls no!  Like I said, NOTHING can replace my false lashes!

So there you go, Maybelline The Falsies Volum'Express Mascara is pretty good for a drug store mascara.  But there is NO WAY it can produce the glamorous and sexy effects of false eyelashes!

The spoon brush was nice to use
