SHRINK IT AND PINK IT: GADGETS FOR WOMEN

I don't have an ipod, my laptop is like a thick log, and after my phone broke I just borrowed hubby's beat up cell. Needless to say, I'm not the most savvy when it comes to everyday technology. Even though I work in IT, I was probably the last person to learn of blue tooth.
What can I say? I am the ultimate girlie girl, and I just don't care about the latest and greatest tech gadget.
On NPR one day, I heard news of tech companies that reach out to female audience (yes, girlie girls) by concept of "shrink it and pink it". And after some research on the internet, I must say that some of these shrunken pink things look more like designer accessories than genius engineering.
Want a preview of these smart products with smart design? The list below can impress even a behind-the-technology girlie girl!

M.A.C FIBRE-RICH LASH MASCARA

On my body, the only thing I want to be "fat" are my lashes. I'm talking about thick, lustrous, in-your-face lashes that look oh-so-sexy! To enable this type of effect for my lashes, M.A.C fibre-rich mascara does the best! Its creamy texture glides on smoothly and doesn't clump. Each morning, I give my lashes 2 doses that make my sleepy eyes pop without 1 ounce of caffeine. For $11, you can achieve rich, natural-looking, mile-long lashes that look deliciously F.A.T!

WRAP DRESS: CREATIVE SOME CURVES

One good thing about working on a team full of women is all the fashion show offs. Each day, it's a guarantee that at least one girl on the team will wear something that makes the rest of us green with envy.

Miss T is known for her Jennifer Aniston-like outfits that make looking good way too easy. Miss H is always tailored and pulled together, while Miss W wears the most quirky surprise. But Miss V has always outdone all of us with her glam style and multi-digit price tag. Today she was in the most stylish wrap dress that hugs her curves in all the right places.

Immediately, of course, I wanted my own wrap dress. But I was wary of my boyish shape - would my curves (or the lack of) look as good in the same type of dress?

To my surprise, when I tried on a wrap dress today, my curves were actually created by the wrap! Although I ended up not buying the dress, seeing my otherwise invisible curves was a very good surprise - all thanks to that little wrap dress!

TOXIC FRIENDS, THEY ARE WORTH THE DUMP

Unfortunately, when it comes to toxic friends, I have had more of them than real friends. How do I know they are toxic? There are various ways and they all start with "too": too competitive, too jealous, too needy, to "me me me"...Luckily, over the years, I stopped being so catering and cut them loose - well, most of them.
You see, toxic friends are just what they are - toxic. They pollute your life and bring you down. They have no way of dealing with their own problems, so they pawn them off onto you.
When I was younger, I was more accepting of these back-stabbing, selfish, "I am the center of the universe" morons. And it took some time to cut loose. But after completely eliminating their negative energy from my life, I was able to "breath" and never felt better.
I'm sure by now you have identified toxic friends of your own. Whether you decide to gradually cut them out, or go cold turkey, just remember that quality always trumps quantity - it's always better to hold tight of really good and trusting friends, even if there are only a few, than really bad ones that intoxicate your life.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACCESSORIZE!

What's this season's best way to ornate? Think: big, bright and bold. Like a strand of ruby-colored stones or a large jade-colored ring. Paired with a tame outfit, these trendy accessories steal the show like an upcoming Hollywood starlet.

I'm sure you've seen them in the latest magazines or just about everywhere from suburban shopping malls to downtown boutiques. But if you still have no idea what I am talking about, check them out here:

RECYCLE THOSE HOSE

I know there are body shapers out there that claim to tuck your middle and flatter your behind. And I am sure some of them work really well. In fact, I bought one before my wedding and it did serve its purpose. With a dress, especially my puffy wedding dress, my body shaper worked well. But one problem I have with it is that when I wear pants, its short legs keep rolling up my legs. The uncontrollable rolling up was uncomfortable.

One day my pantyhose tore on the bottom. Right when I was about to throw them away, it dawn on me that the control top pantyhose can serve as a body shaper if I cut off the legs. And that I did!

Not only does this double the use of my pantyhose, I can comfortably shape my tummy and booty without suffering discomfort.

I suggest you give your old hose a try. If it doesn't work for you, no problem. They are just garbage anyway.
