Skin Care Blog Post - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub Review

Adult acne happens to more people than you think. According to AcneResource.org, "at an estimate, acne affects...50 percent of adult women."

50 percent. Ouch! Bet you all adult acne sufferers, myself included, are in search of a good cleanser.

Enter Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub. "Santa" left it for me in the stocking last Christmas, and it claims to treat acne and clear skin. After two months of using this product, I am ready to review. Hope you all think it's useful.

Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub

The Claim - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (according to Biore.com)

  • Give pores a breath of fresh air

My Take - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub

  •  Formula felt tingly on the face. A definite refresher.

The Claim - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (according to Biore.com)

  • Our gentle yet effective face scrub uses perfectly spherical beads—not jagged edges—and the pore-unclogging power of salicylic acid to deep-clean clogged pores.

My Take - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub

  • The beads were tiny, smooth and round.
  • They felt really nice against my skin.

The Claim - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (according to Biore.com)

  • The scrub unclogs pores by penetrating deep down where blemishes start, and helps prevent future breakouts.

My Take on Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub

  •  No offense, but I honestly did not feel the scrub "penetrate deep down." How are you supposed to tell, any way?

The Claim - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (according to Biore.com)

    • Show the door to nasty pore-cloggers with this face scrub and get ready for beautifully clear, smooth skin.

My Take - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub

    •  I do feel that the scrub cleaned well. However, I don't feel the scrub alone cleared clogged pores.
    • I use it after steaming my face, which opens pores. So of course the scrub cleans deep into the pores.
    • I don't think it is any more special than other scrubs.

The Claim - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub (according to the bottle)

      • Acne treatment and complexion clearing.

My Take - Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub

      •  I did not see a huge difference in my acne problem.
      • Complexion did not even out as expected

      Likes:

      • Nice scrub. Cleaned well.
      • Great price.
      • Refreshing, tingly sensation after use.
      • Beads felt really good.
      • Thick foam after scrub. Didn't thin out.

      Dislikes:

      • Did not deep clean like it claimed.
      • No real adult acne help.
      • Not too much different from other products.

      Overall Rating:

      3/5

      Re-purchase?

Maybe. I'd like to try a few other products first.

Tube-style bottle was easy to use.
      Formula was nice and thick.

Scrub felt refreshing on the skin.

Thanks for reading. Hope you found the review helpful.

      8. Thanks for the honest review. I find that really refreshing. I recently splurged and bought a fancy product endorsed by a fancy celebrity and was sooo disappointed to see absolutely no results, so I really truly appreciate a truthful review!

      9. I haven't tried with using this scrub but Biore has a really nice cleanser that when it's steamed up in the shower really rejuvenates the skin. I love it! And I have the same Clarisonic Mia. Yaaaay! Be careful with using a Clarisonic face brush with a scrub. You don't want to over-exfoiliate and irritate your skin. The Clarisonic already acts as an exfoliater so all it needs is a cleanser. :)

      12. I used this scrub when I was in high school and loved it at the time. Now I think the St. Ives Apricot scrub works gives better results.

      16. Ooh! I wanted to try this product. I use the Clean and Clear scrubs for exfoliation. They brighten the complexion and do the job for a good price :)

      17. I love your blog!! You are always so informative.

I have tried Biore Pore before, but it didn't work too well for me... I also tried their blackhead stripes... and that didn't work too well either. Is there a product you;d recommend for getting rid of blackheads?

I am currently using Origins face exfoliator... It's pretty good.. a little too abrasive for my skin, but it works for now.

        Great post

      18. I've tried this scrub before, it works okay but it's nothing special. There are definitely other products, with just a good price, that are better.

      21. I have adult acne and it stinks. It's hormonal, and to top it off I have a condition I need to have diagnosed that is around my nose (seems to be eczema or something, since it goes away with steroids for allergic reaction and comes back, and gets worse with the effing acne scrub)

I clean my face every day with a scrub with stalyc. acid- and while it does help a little when I am broke out, I don't feel it really prevents breakouts. I've tried everything and feel like I am just stuck with dealing with it!
