Visiting Seattle Part 2 - Must-See Sights and a Little Bit of Style (Fashion Blog Post)

Style First

For second day's sightseeing, I chose a ruffled tank top and a pair of skinny jeans. Because the tank top is dressy, and has much volume, a casual lower half created contrast. Also, due to a lot of running around, flat sandals made a comfortable idea.

Space Needle and Seattle Center

Seattle Center was an old armory that converted into an entertainment center for Seattle's First World's Fair in 1962. It's home to many of Seattle's famous landmarks, like Key Arena, Experience Music Project, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Science Center and Children's Museum. Its most famous landmark, though, is the Space Needle.

Back in the 60's, a structure like the Space Needle was considered to be advanced in both engineering and design. I like the design too, because the "flying saucer" on top, looking all futuristic and stuff, reflects Seattle's tech-y, geeky culture.

I also like the view from the observation deck, which allows a 360-degree panorama of Seattle. It gives visitors a clear idea of Seattle's true beauty, which composes of the Sound, the metropolis, fresh water lakes, hills, and surrounding mountains.

On a sunny day like last week, Seattle's gorgeousness made our knees weak.

View of Seattle's expanding downtown from the Space Needle.

Ride the Duck

I wonder if the military ever had intention of converting these amphibious assault vehicles from WWII into silly duck rides for tourists?

Regardless, we had fun. The driver dresses up, tell jokes, and conducts crazy antics while taking guests on a tour of Seattle. The tour swings by the waterfront, historical areas, downtown, belltown, and a few notable neighborhoods before sliding into Lake Union for a lake-side tour.

My favorite part? The lake, of course.

Downtown Seattle from Lake Union.

I believe the house in the middle is the one from Sleepless in Seattle.

Shopping

I was able to change into a new outfit to take our family shopping. The malls around Seattle are so-so, but shopping in downtown is awesome.

Didn't buy anything for myself, but it was fun showing visitors Seattle's unique fashion sense. Style here, at the Pacific Northwest, is tellingly different from the East Coast. For one, we are generally relaxed.

My outfit below, with the graphic tee and black skinnies, is what Seattliettes consider dressed up. It may look sloppy for New Jersey standards, but feels comfortable to me.

Thanks for reading.

Hope you enjoyed Part 2 of "Visiting Seattle."

Also, I hope you can visit Seattle some time.

Though quirky, Seattle is truly a wonderful place.
