Loving Right Now in Skin Care (Skincare Blog Post)

1. Avocado oil as eye makeup remover.

I used to use olive oil as eye makeup remover, because it's all-natural, and fought tough eye makeup mercilessly. However, olive oil has liquid-y consistency, and ran into eyes and blurred vision.

Avocado oil is much thicker, and won't mess up your vision. It wipes off eye makeup with the same strength, and is all-natural and rich with nutrients as well.

2. Bio Oil, for just about anything.

What makes Bio Oil special is that it contains PurCellin Oil™, which makes its overall consistency non-greasy, and makes ingredients easy to absorb. Bio Oil's ingredients include plants extracts and essential vitamins. It's used to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, scars, uneven skin tone, aging and dehydrated skin.

I bought mine because of a burn accident with the space heater -- red patched all over the left calve. After one month's use, burn marks faded significantly. Hopefully, they continue to disappear.

I've also been using Bio Oil with a night cream, and have seen improvements with uneven skin tone.

3. Neutrogena Naturals Purifying Facial Cleanser.

I like this Neutrogena Naturals cleanser because it's gentle on skin and tough on dirt. Plus, with a trusted skin care brand like Neutrogena, you can't go wrong.

4. EcoTools Domed Bronzer Brush.

No more tanning bed for The Girlie Blogger! Nowadays, for a bronzed glow, I use a subtle bronzer and apply it with a fat brush that has soft bristles, like this Domed Brush by EcoTools.

5. Natural Charcoal Pore Care Pack

Activated charcoal (carbon) has excellent absorbancy power, and therefore attracts skin's impurities. Though there's controversy about using pore strips in general -- word is that they caused broken capillaries and wrinkles -- I've never had such problems, and personally love these charcoal pore strips. They're easy to apply, and leave skin completely fresh.

Of course, nothing beats a spa facial, but at home, these charcoal pore strips make great substitutes.

There are many charcoal pore strips out there. Mine are from this cool Japanese store called Daiso, and they're awesome.

  3. I have used the olive oil in the same way as you did and experienced exactly the same problems. So, I might as well try the avocado oil. I do still sometimes apply olive oil on my face just not to remove make up. The make up remover I'm using right now is one by Nivea, but I would prefer something completely natural.

  4. I use to use bio oil for stretch marks but I think I just wanted immediate result so gave up after few weeks. I'm going to try it again for a longer period and see.

  18. For now I only use pharmacy products that are not 'natural' (like vichy and biotherm and clinique), but I'm really intrigued by this!!! I'm going to try that avocado oil because now I always have to 'rub' before my mascara comes off and I'm sometimes afraid it will give me wrinkles haha (true story)!! Great post and so helpful! I wrote down all of the products and I will see if I can find some here :) Have a nice weekend dear! xx

  20. Oh I love Echo Tools and have an entire set. The fashion editor at my job gave it to me and I am so glad she did. Before this I used sponge applicators but brushes work so much better.
