As an avid runner...okay, okay, more like a jogger...and perhaps not as avid as I should be...Stronger legs is always helpful.

If you think I'm being sarcastic when I admit that I love lunges, I am actually serious.

Lunges are possibly one of the best exercises for your most important muscle groups, your legs and butt! Plus, don't you want to look sexy in those short mini skirts and tall stilettos?

Here is an easy lunge that you can do at the comfort of your own living room:

1) Pick a pair of free weights and lay them on your shoulders. Balance the weights with your hands. PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT GO TOO HEAVY!!!! It will risk injury.

2) Face and put your foot against the wall, pointing with your toe

3) Step back with your other foot, leaving wide space in between to bend you knees at a 90 degree angle

4) Now bend your knees at a 90 degree angle, hold for...1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi...and back up to starting position

Remember to: Keep your abs tight and your torso straight. Look forward and don't lock your knees.

Do 3 sets of 10 - 12 reps each set, for each leg.

I hope you get tip top results!

  1. I miss my workouts. I used to do it three times a day for years, but have recently injured my knee (I think I overworked it a bit) and the only thing I can do these days is walking... :( Still hopefully I'll be back in business soon.

  2. Little Rus: So sorry you injured your knees. I hear stretching your legs, especially the hammies, is good for the knees. Hope you get back on your workouts soon!

Meraldia: you are absolutely right! With the holidays coming up, it's time to work out! :O)
