Leopard Details - 3 Ways to Wear Leopard in Small Details

Not the type to wear head-to-toe leopard? You don't have to go all over with this wild print. While leopard is still in, attempt it in small details -- you'll look sexy without looking loud.

Out Black Friday shopping with my husband, I ran into irresistible leopard details. Even though we were supposed to get Christmas presents for the kiddos, I just had to add these to our cart.

Now, I can't wait to share my new leopard-detailed purchases with you:

1. Wear Leopard on Your Feet

Check out my new leopard-printed loafers! Do they look comfortable or what? My feet glided into them easily, and I felt like I was walking on air.

2. Get Catty with a Clutch

With straps, my catty clutch is a cross body bag; without straps, it is an evening clutch. No matter how I wear this leopard bag, I know I'll love its gorgeous details and roomy interior.

3. Wild at Heart - Leopard Graphics on Your Tee

After much debate -- feeling too old for rock n' roll style -- I finally decided to buy this top. Love the cross, with its pretty leopard prints and all. Also, the shirt felt really comfortable. Well, I guess you are never too old to rock n' roll.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and successful Black Friday.

How else do you wear leopard?

My husband and I are separated, but only in finances.

Actually...

My husband and I have been separated since 2004, when we decided to move in together. Since then, we have opened a few joint accounts for necessary purposes like housing and food, while keeping other accounts independent from one another.

Okay, girlie. That's not normal!

For a married couple, our system seems unconventional. But for a simple person like me, it makes perfect sense: why charge our household account for (yet) another pair of boots -- but this one has snakeskin details -- and endure explaining the difference between snakeskin and leopard to my nerdy hubby?

So you do this out of fear?

Heck no! We do it out of convenience.

Sure it takes time to manage several accounts, but it takes much longer to separate a receipt that includes groceries, diapers, medicine, and then nail polish that only I use.

Budgeting requires knowing where your money goes, right? Receipts offer that info. But having to divide each receipt by "household," "my stuff," "his stuff," and so on takes a ton of time -- especially when you have two little ones, and hit the grocery store almost everyday.

Isn't this gorgeous? A nerdy dude would never agree.

Do you pay separately each time then?

Yes. Both my husband and I divide things at check out. We pay for our own stuff with our own money, and pay for household stuff from joint checking.

Do you have access to your husband's individual accounts?

Yes, but I haven't checked them since 2004. I'm pretty sure he doesn't check mine either.

What if he's spending all his dough on some mistress?

Right. I'm sure he's meeting up with some woman on his way to get formula.

If I couldn't trust him, then I shouldn't have married him.

Sounds good, girlie. But...um...what's the point of this post?

Besides fulfilling a reader's request (thanks 7% Solution), there are some benefits of having separate accounts from your husband:

1. It keeps things romantic.

Just got hubby's birthday presents. If we shared one account, he would have already seen the transaction online, and found out where I bought his gifts. This takes away half the surprise.

2. It keeps me motivated.

Like any one-income family, money is tight. I feel guilty buying myself lipstick -- a 3-dollar lipstick.

Because blogging and writing has made money, I can purchase extras like cosmetics or lunch with friends without feeling completely selfish. This, in turn, makes me work harder on blogging and writing.

3. It proves that stay-at-home moms are NOT gold diggers.

A lot of people -- and I'm sure none of my readers do this -- still view stay-at-home moms as lazy, gold digging low lives. But as you can see, we work very hard, and help out financially as much as we can.

By the way, my husband is a mechanical engineer, not some rich 90-year-old. If I do any kind of digging, I'm digging for scrap metal.

Anna Nicole Smith was beautiful, but she sure was a gold digger.

Thanks for reading.

Do you have separate money from your husband?

By the way, according to Women's Personal Finance Online, more men talk about Black Friday than women. Hehe. And we are shop-o-holics?

A Week of Reconnect - A Fashion Blog Post

Life happens!

You have lost connection to those who were close to you, because you: graduated, got a job, moved away, married your sweetheart, and popped out a few kids. The people you used to call for no reason, those who chatted with you all night long, are no longer on your speed dial -- or even in your call history. They were your buds, your confidants, your better half...but only during way back when.

And it's okay...

To get crazy busy, to grow other interests, and to lose touch.

Hey, I did.

The tightly-knit circle of friends I had back in the day dissipated as we all moved away to the East and West coasts. Gradually, we became complacent in our own lives, and lost communication.

But once in a while...

We reconnect, because that's what friends do.

Coincidentally, I heard from a few old friends all in last week, and we chatted up like time never passed.

I put up a wall -- a stone, cold wall.

Unfortunately, making quality friends in a new place -- and in my 30's -- has been difficult. You just don't have enough energy or interest to build the same foundation of trust. After hurtful disappointments, I put up a stone cold wall.

A wall -- yes. But I'm not hopeless.

And when old friends reconnected with me, they assured me that real friendships do exist, and that all I had to do is reach out, and that even if I fail -- yet again -- I can always count on them to be there.

So just reply "yes"

Inside the stone cold wall I have built, it has been hard to accept others, even when they send warm invitations. But last Saturday, after a week of reconnect, I accepted an invitation to a baby shower -- no, I do not know M or her group of mama friends well, but all the reason to get to know them better.

My outfit. FINALLY!

Still feeling uneasy about wearing tight clothes, I layered a long cardigan over a stretchy tank.

It rained like crazy that day, so the fuzzy boots seemed appropriate.

And of course, to pretty up the outfit, I added a strand of necklace.

The entire ensemble looked simple, but it felt warm and comfortable -- perfect for a new mommy, at a baby shower.

Thanks girlies.

Thanks for reading, coming back, and always giving me supportive feedback.

As you can see, I love beauty, fashion, and blogging. But I love connecting with you guys the most.

Oh, by the way, HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
