EASY-GOING SATURDAY MAKE UP

Yesterday was the kind of Saturdays you see in the movies: bright sunshine with few traces of clouds, calm winds blowing the colorful leaves away, and everyone taking it easy at the local coffee shops.

On a Saturday like yesterday's, I wanted to take a break from "glam" (you know...dramatic hues and eye-popping lashes, etc) and wear makeup that's more...down to earth. With natural shades of brown for eyes and a soft, pink sheen on the lips, my easy-going Saturday makeup came about like this:

1) Use a sponge and cover entire face with matte foundation.

2) On the brow bone, apply a cream-colored highlighter.

3) On the lids, apply a coffee- or light brown-toned shadow.

4) Line each eye's top and bottom with a brown pencil liner. (If you want, you can line your bottom 3/4 of the way from outside in)

5) Apply first layer of mascara onto the lashes

6) While waiting for mascara to dry, apply a soft and natural pinkish blush.
(If you have chubby cheeks like me, smile to find apples of your face. Then apply a stroke of blush just behind the apples. This should slenderize your face.)

7) Apply powder (better if it's mineral powder) all over face.

8) Your mascara should be dry now. Curl lashes. If needed, top lashes with 1 more coat of mascara.

9) Apply a very sheer lip gloss.

DONE!!!! Easy-going make-up, easy to do.

  4. Thanks for the nice words guys!

Blurbage, the gloss is Buxom Lips by Bare Essentials. Got it from Sephora. Color is called "Dolly".

I like this gloss very much because it leaves my lips tingly and plumped.

    Hope this helps.

  6. If you are talking about the Rimmel Stay Matte, it did pretty well (prolly a 7 on a scale of 1-10).

But the coverage was not as good. The liquid appeared thin. I had to apply 2 coats.

    Hope this helps.
