Weekend Recommend - Beauty, Skin Care and Hair (Beauty and Skincare Blog Post)

Hana Organic Skin Care - a Seattle Pride!

Hana Organic Skin Care is made on Bainbridge Island, right across the Pudget Sound from Seattle, by certified herbalist Karen Ries, who suffered sensitive skin, and never found relief in commercial products.

One day, Ries decided to create her own skincare, straight out of her kitchen, and found that not only does using natural ingredients help sensitive skin, it helps the environment as well.

To keep high standards and excellence in quality, Ries makes HANA Skin Care in small batches. All products use the purest ingredients and contain zero toxic.

Plus, they smell earthy and fantastic! I was excited to try them -- especially after learning that they are locally-made -- and I was pleased with HANA products' gentle formula, and how well they worked. My favorite is the Lavender Grains lotion, because not only did it quench dry skin, it softened skin's texture too.

NYX Eye Shadow in Get Naked

If you haven't heard of NYX, it's an excellent drug store brand: eyeliner draws on precisely and never runs; lipstick doesn't dry up; and gloss stays on longer than most out in the market. (Personal experiences only.)

This little NYX eye shadow has top quality also. It didn't cake or flake, and applied well. I like its olive-green tint because it can create a smokey effect, but can also be worn everyday (see picture).

Orlando Pita Argan Hair Mask

Every (girlie) girl needs to treat hair with care.

I've had success with other hair mask, but this one takes and cake! My hair both looked and felt silky smooth after five minutes of treatment in the shower, and the effect lasted a couple of days. I was delighted, and am now an Orlando Pita convert.

Clinique Repair Wear Foundation

Oops I did it again! I bought Clinique.

After trying a couple of other foundation, I returned to Clinique's Repair Wear. It's supposed to be the brand's highest coverage foundation -- and delivered what it promised. However, the formula never felt heavy, and I always got a smooth appearance.

Pretty sure I'll be itching to try something else in a few months, but for now, I'm still in love with this foundation.

Almay CC Cream

I'm confused! The market is saturated with all types of skin-perfecting creams, yet no one has perfect skin. First there was tinted moisturizer. Then there was BB. And now there is CC.

From what I've read online, they are essentially the same. So I picked up Almay CC cream (CC means color correcting) just to try -- and I do like that it's lightweight and offers decent coverage.

Most days, I'm in "mom-mode," and don't wear heavy makeup. This CC cream offers a great way to even skin tone without stressing skin.

Thanks for reading.

I hope you found something that looks interesting.

Have a wonderful weekend!
