Here's a fashion tip: the safest way to layer is to layer with the same colors.

Why? Because you'll always match, and you won't look bulky.
 

I bought the blouse and the blazer at JC Penny's. Can you tell I'm on a cobalt kick? The vibrant blue brings welcoming brightness to Seattle's gray atmosphere.

By the way, have you been to JC Penny's lately? The store is transitioning into quite a fashion frontier, with awesome sales across all departments.

 

Also, blazers provide sleek layering, and always look nice with a sheer blouse. 

I left my blouse untucked to give this outfit a casual feel. Plus, leaving it untucked hides a postpartum belly.

If you want to add a little something to an outfit, try a sequined accessory. Don't go overboard, but a sequined collar (seen here) brings dimension and glamor.
