Weekend Recommend

1. Fake sexy legs with...

Taupe heels

Because...

Taupe replaced nude as the "it" color for shoes.

You might not need faking, but a pair of bare legs look mighty sexy in the heels below.

2. Read...

No Easy Day: The First Hand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden
(by Mark Owen)

Because...

Don't you want to find out what really happened in that Pakistani compound?

Events were far different than what media fabricated.

The book was so intense, I couldn't put it down.

3. Also read...

American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History

(By Chris Kyle)

Because...

Everyone needs to be humbled.

In the book, former seal Chris Kyle, who passed away in early 2013, gives first-person accounts of our nation's most recent war -- a war that will fill the history books of our children's children's children.

You won't find sniper tactics here (thank God), but terrifying tales from the battle front, and heartbreaking stories of loss.

You'll feel grateful for those who risk their lives, so you can sleep soundly at night, celebrate with family, blog about makeup and fashion, and text or tweet or snap chat (whatever that means).

Your problems will seem trifling.

You will be humbled. I don't care who you are. Lawyer, doctor, C.E.O -- you are all gonna be humbled.

The freedom you enjoy is not free; someone is risking their life defending it.

4. Eat cake...

And enjoy every bite.

Because...

Just when I was feeling bad about turning 35 -- I'm so old! -- I read Kyle's book (see recommendation above).

An 18-year-old marine died in his arms. He didn't get a chance to turn 35.

He didn't even get a chance to turn 21.

Why am I complaining about turning 35?

Celebrate. Eat cake. Enjoy every single birthday. Because somewhere, someone is risking their life to give you the opportunity to get old.

6. Tone your skin with...

Because...
